Professional Recognition

Recognition of defined professional capability or contribution within an aerospace field.

Recognition of defined professional capability or contribution within an aerospace field.

Professional Recognition may acknowledge an eligible individual member whose professional experience, demonstrated contribution or competence can be evidenced within a clearly defined aerospace field. The field is mandatory; Recognition must never suggest competence across all aerospace disciplines.

Status: In Development

This Recognition route is currently in development. Detailed criteria and member-request procedures will be published before requests are accepted.

Read this route / subject and boundary

A defined professional field

The route is in development. The following interpretation explains existing public descriptions; it does not add eligibility rules or open requests.

Evidence context

Relevant experience and responsibility

Qualifications, professional history, projects and current development are useful only where they support the field being considered.

Conclusion boundary

A bounded professional acknowledgement

A defined AF decision does not replace a professional licence, registration, legal authorization or competence requirements outside that field.

Read the review framework

The public record must name the field being recognized.

Potential eligible individual members include aerospace, aeronautical and astronautical engineers; systems, propulsion and avionics specialists; aerospace software and cybersecurity professionals; space scientists; satellite specialists; researchers; academics; educators; testing, quality and safety professionals; policy professionals; experienced executives and independent specialists.

Fields may include Aerospace Systems Engineering, Satellite Mission Operations, Aircraft Structural Engineering, Aerospace Materials Research, Space Systems Research, Aviation Safety Management, Aerospace Education, Propulsion Engineering or Aerospace Digital Systems.

Professional evidence must be relevant to the named field.

Education and training

Relevant foundation

Academic background, technical education, professional development and continuing learning may be reviewed.

Professional experience

Work in context

Relevant roles, responsibility, duration, complexity and scope can be considered.

Demonstrated contribution

Evidence of value

Projects, research, publications, technical work, leadership, education and review can support the named field.

Professional output

Documented work

Reports, design work, technical projects, presentations and committee work may be relevant.

Responsibility

Accountability and conduct

Decision responsibility, technical accountability, leadership and ethical conduct may be assessed.

Continuing development

Current capability

Current activity, training, research and professional learning help keep the evidence current.

Recognition is a defined decision, not a professional licence.

Evidence may include

  • CV, professional profile and qualifications
  • Employment history and project records
  • Publications, research outputs and technical reports
  • Professional references and responsibility evidence
  • Continuing-development records
  • Relevant professional registration as supporting context

It does not constitute

  • Professional licence or engineering registration
  • Personnel certification or government authorization
  • Legal permission to practise
  • Employment qualification or airworthiness authority
  • Competence outside the stated Recognition field

Professional Recognition records a defined Aerospace Federation Recognition decision. It does not replace professional registration, licensing or regulated competence requirements.

Professional Recognition must not become an automated badge or lifetime status.

A credible route requires defined eligibility, relevant evidence, competent reviewers, conflict management, review findings, an independent decision, a clear scope and public verification. Future maintenance may require continued active membership, an updated professional profile, continuing professional development, material-change notification and periodic evidence review.

Review the criteria for a defined professional field.

Membership provides access to the process; the route evidence and decision determine Recognition.
