Federation membership
Application Process
A considered route from enquiry to onboarding.
A considered process
From an initial profile to appropriate onboarding.
Pre-application, formal membership review and a later activity appointment are different stages. Clarification may be needed; no fixed review deadline or approval is guaranteed.
- 01
Prepare & submit
Choose the applicant route, one category and a participant type. Submit a pre-application describing identity, aerospace relevance and intended contribution.
What makes an initial profile useful?
Keep the three classification choices consistent with the actual applicant. Explain additional technical interests in the activity description rather than inventing extra primary categories.
- 02
Initial review & clarification
Information is checked for completeness, classification fit and aerospace relevance. Additional information or another classification may be requested.
What can clarification address?
It can help make applicant identity, principal activity, representation or intended contribution clearer. A request for information is not membership approval.
- 03
Formal application & decision
Suitable applicants may be invited to the formal stage. The applicable eligibility and membership review process determines the outcome.
Does an invitation mean approval?
No. An invitation to a full application and the final membership decision are separate. Any applicable formal terms are communicated through the appropriate process.
- 04
Onboarding & participation
Approved members receive relevant next steps. Council, Committee or Working Group appointments remain separate decisions.
How does participation begin?
Identify a relevant activity and follow its published remit, availability and participation arrangements. Membership itself does not create an appointment or open every programme.
Practical preparation
Prepare context, not a promotional brochure.
Use the live form’s fields and instructions. The following is preparation guidance, not a new document-submission requirement.
Accurate identity, current contact details and the relevant personal or organizational capacity.
A consistent route, primary category and participant type, with an understandable aerospace connection.
A relevant perspective, subject or question and a realistic description of intended participation.
After submission
Expect review, not an automatic outcome.
Continue with clarity
Start with an accurate membership profile.
Pre-application begins a review. It does not create membership or guarantee approval.
