Federation membership
Eligibility & Participation
Relevance, responsible conduct and a clear profile.
A credible basis for membership

Make the information easy to understand.
A preparation checklist, not an eligibility score.
Use these prompts to identify information you can explain. Checking a box does not establish eligibility, replace review or restrict the next step.
Do not merge the decisions
Membership approval and activity appointment are separate.
Is there an appropriate participation relationship?
The review considers applicant identity, aerospace relevance, classification and responsible participation.
Is this contribution appropriate to the work?
Relevant activities may separately consider competence, experience, scope, balanced representation, interests, terms and current needs.
Important distinctions
Keep the applicant context clear.
Are public institutions automatically eligible?
No. Participation must be compatible with the institution’s mandate, independence, applicable rules and AF requirements. Membership is not governmental endorsement or a transfer of public authority.
Does Founding Member status bypass normal review?
No. Normal eligibility and timing must be confirmed. Founding Member status is not a fourth route and does not create automatic voting authority, appointments or preferential technical decisions.
What if the category is not an obvious fit?
Explain the actual principal activity and ask for guidance. Do not select several primary categories or imply technical approval through classification. Review may recommend a different classification.
Continue with clarity
Start with an accurate membership profile.
Pre-application begins a review. It does not create membership or guarantee approval.
