Recognition

Recognition grounded in evidence and defined scope.

Aerospace Federation Recognition provides eligible active members with a structured route for defined institutional, educational, professional or technical Recognition based on published criteria, relevant evidence, competent review and public verification.

Member Recognition / defined acknowledgement

Credibility comes from a precise conclusion.

Recognition is a voluntary, evidence-based acknowledgement for a defined subject and scope. It is separate from ordinary Membership, Accreditation, certification and regulatory approval.

Evidence that fits the subject

Evidence, scope and the Recognition outcome.

A curriculum, a professional portfolio and an institutional activity record answer different questions. Their value depends on the subject and the published route criteria.

Defined subject · Relevant evidence · Limited conclusion

Name the subject precisely

Identify the institution, programme, professional field or technical contribution. A route cannot responsibly assess an undefined claim such as “excellence across aerospace”.

Connect the evidence to the claim

Show which records support the subject, who is responsible for them and how they remain relevant. Volume, design polish and membership duration are not substitutes for evidence.

Keep the acknowledgement bounded

A programme-level conclusion does not recognize the whole institution. A contribution-level conclusion does not establish every aspect of a person’s professional competence.

Four documented routes

The subject determines the route. The evidence bounds the conclusion.

All four routes are currently in development. Detailed criteria and member-request procedures will be published before requests are accepted.

In development

Institutional

Recognized subject
A defined institutional capability, contribution or aerospace role.
Membership context
The organization must first hold appropriate active AF membership.
Important boundary
Not approval of all products, programmes or employees.

Education & Training

Recognized subject
A named learning or professional-development programme.
Membership context
The responsible owner or delivering institution normally holds eligible Corporate or Institutional membership.
Important boundary
Not degree accreditation, credit equivalence or participant certification.

Professional

Recognized subject
Defined professional capability or contribution in a named field.
Membership context
An eligible Individual member and relevant professional evidence.
Important boundary
Not professional licensing or competence in every aerospace discipline.

Technical Contribution

Recognized subject
An identifiable contribution to defined technical or research work.
Membership context
Eligible membership and documented substantive contribution.
Important boundary
Not an attendance award or blanket endorsement of the contributor.

Three separate eligibility questions

Membership is the gateway—not the finding.

Passing one question does not answer the next. This is an explanation of the existing model, not a self-assessment that issues eligibility.

01Active membership

The member must meet the appropriate Membership conditions and hold active status. Founding Member status and payment do not create preferential Recognition rights.

Membership conditions
02Route and subject fit

The subject must fit the selected Recognition route and its published eligibility conditions. The relevant route must be open through the designated member-only channel.

Route context
03Criteria and evidence

Relevant evidence must support the defined scope under published criteria, competent review and a separate decision. Membership itself is not evidence of the outcome.

Criteria and review

Review and decision

Two functions protect one bounded outcome.

Competent review

What does the evidence support?

Reviewers examine the subject against the criteria, request clarification where needed and retain findings and limitations in a recommendation.

Independent decision

What can responsibly be recognized?

The decision confirms the applicable process, conflicts, scope and limitations. A member does not decide its own Recognition outcome.

Public verification

The record is the limit of the claim.

A public record identifies the route, subject, exact scope, status, dates and limitations. Private member and review information is not automatically public.
